While I write much more frequently over at Points With a Crew now, I still want to publish how much Nick and I have earned, points-wise. For me, it’s a fun thing to keep track of, hence why I keep doing it.
Here’s what the first quarter of 2017 looked like:
Earned:
Program | Sam | Nick |
---|---|---|
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan | 52,248 | 0 |
American Airlines AAdvantage | 63,505 | 0 |
American Express Membership Rewards | 16,105 | 0 |
Amtrak Guest Rewards | 33,394 | 32,706 |
Chase Ultimate Rewards | 0 | 367 ($3.67 cash back) |
Hilton Honors | 6,204 | 11,385 |
jetBlue TrueBlue | 800 | 0 |
TOTAL | 172,256 | 44,458 |
In total, we earned 216,714 points! These points were earned from day-to-day spending, sign-up bonuses (Amtrak x2, American Airlines), points promotions (Alaska) and through shopping portals.
Burned:
Program | Sam | Nick |
---|---|---|
Amtrak Guest Rewards | 16,845 | 2,097 |
Virgin America eleVAte | 31,751 | 0 |
TOTAL | 48,596 | 2,097 |
In total, we used 50,693 points! These points were mainly used for weekend getaways to visit our families on Amtrak, however, I did convert my Virgin America points to Alaska miles, at a rate of 1:1.3. If you remember, those were the miles I transferred from SPG in order to earn 50,000 jetBlue miles.
