Sometimes, life get’s a little, uh, crazy. In the past year that this site has hibernated, I got married, went on my honeymoon, adopted another cat, and started a new job, to name the highlights. I had good intentions of continuing writing here, but we all know what happens to best laid plans.
That doesn’t mean I didn’t continue in earnest in my collection of points–far from it. So far this year, I’ve amassed over 700,000 points and spent even more. This year alone, Nick and I have travelled more than ever, with even more plans before we ring in 2019.
It’s also given me some opportunity to think about the direction I want this space to take. In the previous iteration of this blog, I wanted so badly to be like the big boys over on Boarding Area or The Points Guy. Let’s be honest–that ain’t gonna happen. What it does mean, however; is that I’m going to focus less on last-minute deals and offers, and more on how to build your stash of points as a newbie. We all have to start somewhere, right? People often ask, “Which card should I get?” or “I use this card all the time…is that right?” I’m here to help!
Additionally, what’s the point of collecting points if you don’t use them? I want to help you, dear reader, maximize your points for trips so you can save some cash.
In the next couple of weeks, you’ll see some posts be retired, some series brought back to life, a new layout, and much more. I hope you stick around!
